All About Me

Hi, I'm Iris Champlin. Online I mostly go by C4TBYTE.

I am a nerd by profession. I engineer some of the largest AI/HPC infrastructure systems being deployed today — NVIDIA's GB200 and GB300 platforms, thousands of GPUs, the kind of hardware most people will never see in person. When cutting edge technology breaks, there's usually not a manual. Sometimes you get to be the first person who figures it out. It's rewarding and demands a level of curiosity that I've always loved. Being a girl engineer in HPC is also a pretty solid flex.

I love engineering, but somewhere between root cause analysis and optimizing everything in sight, I started to miss making things purely because they look cool. No corporate bureaucracy, no performance metrics, and no need to justify my taste. Just me, my ideas, and working with cool people to turn visions into realities.

So I make things on the side. Websites, tools, visual experiments, and whatever else catches my attention. My projects are all over the place, but a lot of my time goes to bands, record labels, and music festivals. The hardcore scene has given me a lot over the years, and I've finally found my niche for giving back. I'm also passionate about digital privacy, anti-surveillance, and generally being suspicious of technology that watches us.

This site is where all of that lives. If you're looking to hire me for a website or a custom system, that's Built by C4TBYTE, my freelance studio.

TLDR: I like computers. I like making things. I like making things on my computer.
